Help Us Fight For Nanay...πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Update posted by Joan quimpo

2016, we lost our father over esophageal cancer. The process was hard, tiring and draining, in all aspects, but our mother stood firm. Despite her age, she was 70 years old then ,she remained strong, fighting all difficulties (worst one was when her grandson had viral encyphalitis which almost cost him his life) she had to face san her husband. She never complained about life ,she just face it head on not just for herself but she said " I am choosing to live for all of you ..."

Dec 2020,she suffered severe coughing, she was immediately admitted in the ICU facility. . The diagnosis showed she has pneumonia. She underwent thoracenthesis to drain the fluid drowning her lungs . We thought that it was just that but further labtests and final diagnosis showed ailments such as fatty liver, hypertensive cardiovascular disease, congestive heart failure, pleural effusion, and community acquired pneumonia . We spent new year in hospital bed ( it was just her and I because visitors were limited due to the pandemic ) ,the saddest, but we felt relieved and thankful to God for we still have her. She was discharged Jan 3 ,but the coughing ,shortness of breath continue and she keeps losing weight and appetite. The doctor ordered re examining her condition. Chest X ray and ultrasound were performed. 2D echo was also needed but she didn't make it because her heart rate was racing and she could hardly breathe. She was immediately admitted ,again , to the hospital. The fluid in her lung recur. A pigtail catheter is inserted in her lung to drain the fluid because thoracenthesis is no longer an option, fluid is building up in her lung faster than it should.

We have spent and almost exhausted our resources from all the medical emergencies our family had been put through all these years. With this pandemic , we have little to no means of meeting all her medical requirements nor we have enough to pay our latest hospital bill.

But just like Father and her grandson, we can't lose her. Not without a fight. Father's case was terminal but we gave him everything he needed until his last breath. Her grandson's doctors told us that he might not make it, but we fought the dreadful disease , selling everything we have , including mother's valuable possessions. Her grandson survived! Now that it is her turn to get all the medical attentions for her to survive, there's nothing left! And it is unfair and too painful for us to realise that. We can't just let her slip away without giving her a chance. Doctor said her case is hopeful she can still get better ...

Nanay, hang on there. We won't let you slip away without giving a good fight for you, until the end...
