February 6, Updates and Progress

Update posted by Marian Dagangon Guibone

For those who are asking about my Mother's progress/updates:

On Jan. 22nd I rushed her to the hospital due to severe pain on her left thigh where the hospital (St. Lukes Medical Center) was so urgent to assist and cure her, thank you for their expensive service, well what can I say, St. Lukes is a private hospital which we believed was by God's divine intervention, where we're delivered, because that evening the Rescue Team asked both Makati Medical Center and Ospital ng Makati for vacancy but unfortunately even their ER rooms are fully occupied, so instead of waiting outside ER which might, that time, has a lot of people with symptoms or non symptoms were also waiting, the rescue team decided to drive us to St. Lukes.

Then after 2 days of being in the ER and after my mother tested negative from covid they transferred her to the ICU for close monitoring because her BP was still dropping, and her hemoglobin count was also low and she was found to have an infection due to the sarcoma, the same reason my mother is having a severe pain the day we rushed her to the ER. Then after a few more days, I Praised God because her condition was already stable thanks to the people who helped us where to get (Red Cross Blood Bank) and those who donated their blood for blood transfussion. Her infection was also cured after dripping two strong classes of antibiotics as per the Doctor from my mother's IV line and of course for all your prayers and support which we whole heartedly appreciate so much.

So after being in the ICU for 3 days and stabilizing her condition we are transferred to a semi-private room which I picked to be the cheapest because we already have a big amount on our running bill, she was still being monitored and was cleared only from all the IV fluids as she's already taking it as meds that they've been giving us everyday which you can also see on the picture attached to this post. Right now we are coordinating with the billing and in-house collection here in the hospital to arrange and sign a promisory note while we are waiting for more donors and charitable institutions to help with our plea for financial assistance to cover our hospital bill, which we cannot afford to pay even by receiving a lot of donations coming from all of you. After this we could get a discharge order and can be transferred to a much more affordable hospital National Kidney and Transplant Institute which my mother's attending Doctor is also affiliated to, so we can still have the same Doctor meaning no more test or lab request from a new Doctor or new hospital. And while waiting we are now arranging ambulance (conduction) and available room for my mother in NKTI for us to proceed, my mother have taken a PCR Test again and both of us were subjected for an x-ray as part of the hospitals requirement before admission. Our current plan, God willing is to transfer her to NKTI to start her Radiation Therapy as soon as possible.

Again, from the bottom of our hearts we thank you all for all of your prayers and support to battle this cancer, we will not name all of you due to a lot of you who donated for this cause, and for you already know who you are. Your support really helped a lot for the medical expenses like medications, transportations, and all necessary expenses related to my mother's cancer treatments and hospitalization. Your continous support and prayers are all appreciated and may God bring back all this favor thru His own ways neither thru financially nor physically.πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

I'm sorry for not sending updates more frequently as it is very stressful together with sleepless nights while coping with the situation that we are going through. And the only thing we can do now is to entrust everything unto the Lord and let His will be done according to His plans, for His plans are greater than our plans and His ways are greater than our ways. πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»
