Tech giveaway to families and communities in need

Update posted by Roxanne Bangad

In the past few months of the lockdown here in the Philippines, we have suffered a ballooning number of unemployment, thus turning the poverty index to arise. Apart from the lack of daily necessities of our country men there's one more problem that seems to affect the youth.

It's dropping out of school.

This is due to the change in the mode of education, the shift from the usual face to face learning to online learning or modular education which the Philippines as a country is not equipped to handle.

More so a common household.

Amidst the pandemic our country has not yet decided on an academic freeze, because we solely depend heavily on a physical workforce development. Thus the academe cannot delay the education of the youth, leaving those who cannot afford the new normal education behind.

That is why we are launching a fundraising program for the cause. The drive is aiming provide aid to the youth learning kits and adequate technology to equip themselves in the new norms of learning.

The current status of many schools and students based on statics of research outlets in the Philippines is very alarming. For remote and secluded areas which there are no cases of the Covid-19 pandemic, students are handed our modular educational kits. In light to this a big number of which is still lacking of printers, copy materials for the educational kits and school supplies for the children on the grade school level. While the areas which are densely populated like the metros, the cities and municipalities students are opted for online or remote learning.

While this online/remote learning, is the option of the majority of schools and institutions, not everyone can afford it. Based on the current situation of families going under circumstances of loosing household income, their children are on the verge of losing their education.
