It is a typical Argentine object, it is used to drink an infusion (called mate) and you do this with a straw (which also comes as a gift). You can buy yerba mate in practically any large supermarket and if not keep this gift as a souvenir of participating in this foundraiser or as a curious object from Argentina :)
