Overwhelming Gratitude

Update posted by Myrted Legaspi

Hello All - TJ and I would like to extend our eternal gratitude to everyone who shared their prayers, words of strength, encouragements, and generosity towards TJ's fight against cancer. The overwhelming support gives us light, hope, confidence and inspiration that we are not in this battle alone.

4 days ago, when the campaign started, we were at the lowest point in our battle. TJ and I were in the hospital where she was treated for lung infection. We were only supposed to be confined for a day after a routine biopsy test, but we were never able to go home because of her fever. The campaign and the overwhelming support certainly gave TJ and I the hope and inspiration we needed to pull through and yesterday (July 10) we got discharged from the hospital - with no episodes of fever for the past 2 days. We have no doubt that your prayers paved way for that to happen - please help both of us and continue in including us in your prayers.

Following her recovery from lung infection - we are now just waiting for her ERPR and HER2 results. Both of these test would allow us to determine if the characteristics of her cancer mutated, post chemotherapy and radiation last year, or remained as is. This would help the doctors to properly decide what treatment route to take. Please continue to pray that there are no mutations coming from both tests.

Once confirmed that there are no mutations - TJ will undergo the latest generation of cancer treatments. The treatment will be:

  • 3x a day tablets of Ribociclib
  • 1x a day tablet of Letrozole

Both are designed to mimic the effects of Chemo IV but is more targeted and hopefully with less side effects

  • 1x a month injection of XGEVA - to manage bone metastasis.
  • 1x a month injection of Zoladex - to shut down ovaries and prevent excessive hormone generation - primary driver of her cancer growth.

We still have a long way to go, but we are keeping a positive mindset and taking it day by day.

Again, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone for their continued support. We try to message everyone for their generosity but if there are anyone we've missed, we apologize - Please know we have everyone in our prayers.

Psalms 46:1-3 – God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Eternally grateful,

Pau and TJ
