The current capacity of the Suzuki van is 350Kg. We have to make 2 trips weekly to Pasir Panjang Wholesale Center to pick up the donated vegetables due to the limited capacity. We have also been invited to pick up free vegetables from Sri Lankaramaya Buddhist Temple every Sat. Our volunteers have to make 2 trips again to pick up the allocated vegetables for our soup kitchen. 4 trips instead of 2 means twice the fuel cost and time to load and unload the groceries.
