Update from Uganda

Update posted by Africa Action Network

We are pleased to announce that the Kampala International University School of Nurses is the first to receive funding for local production of face masks.

The nursing faculty has partnered with the university’s tailoring department to produce face masks.

Masks will be delivered to nurses and midwives at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital, Bushenyi Health Center, Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Buliisa District Hospital, Kasese District Hospital. In turn, these hospitals will supply smaller health facilities in their districts. These hospitals are in high risk areas of Covid-19.

Our Covid-19 network is processing project proposals from several other countries in the region.

The need is great and your continued interest and support is appreciated.
