Undergone the first two operations on his brain (removing of Abscess & VP Shunt- removing of fluid inside his brain/the most common treatment for Hydrocephalus), Mateo's latest CT Scan result wasn't any better. In this case, he needs another surgery for the 3rd time, same as the first one (EOA) with the use of a bigger tube this time. An excess pus was found on the deeper part of his brain that needs to be removed immediately for him to finally start with the recovery.

Prior to the operation, the Doctor has set our expectation giving Mateo 10% - 20% chance of survival and/or the possibility of a comatose. It was not an easy decision for the entire family due to to the given risks. But we have to put our faith to GOD and fight for Mateo, otherwise he'll die.

The third operation (May 16) that lasted 6Hrs went well. Mateo is not completely fine, but doing better than the last few weeks. The physical pain he used to have was minimized. There are still some pus left on the deep part of his brain which the doctors were unable to remove because it's too dangerous. Mateo is now under observation on Intensive Care Unit (ICU) waiting for the next CT Scan to see if he really needs another operation or continuous medication can treat the Abscess.
