Haven’t seen Kieran yet but managed to talk to his surgeon. Basically, Kieran was in a pretty bad state when they started the main surgery cuz his right heart pressure was really high and his body was waterlogged everywhere but they managed to enlarge both the pulmonary arteries and lower the pressure. They had to leave a small hole in the atrial septum again but it’s a small issue that can be easily closed in future.

That being said, his oxygen saturation will be lowish (85-90?) but it was more important for them to relieve the pressure otherwise Kieran would have gone into heart failure. The water retention will resolve itself once the pressure in the heart is lowered.
