First Wave of Supplies

Update posted by Stephanie Sario

Dear Friends,

As promised, below are current updates in mobilizing our Fight COVID-19 Supplies campaign into action:

Process

Our process for identifying hospitals was simple. As a two-person team, we focused on referrals from contacts/colleagues/relevant DOH groups from several communication platforms. In this first phase, we reached out to these hospitals and gathered information on their most needed medical supply items. We then proceeded to develop a suppliers list and acquired available items, referencing the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) price guidelines for medical supplies.

Supplies and Hospitals

As of 4/01/2020, your contributions have totaled 101,677.70 PHP (minus PayPal and GoGetFunding service fees). We have decided to extend this campaign with an open deadline as we aim to leverage all remaining and future donations from our 150K PHP goal to other sites in need. You will find the full list of hospitals from our first phase of outreach, including a tally of all purchased supplies and commodities here. 100% of donations go to the purchase of PPEs and other medical/food supplies. If you have specific questions, please don’t hesitate to send us a message.

Logistics

We partnered with the Philippine Marine Corps to assist us in delivering supplies to seven (7) hospitals. The first wave of items will all be delivered by April 3rd. We extend our gratitude and thanks to Marine Reservist, Jaimie Sarmiento and several teams of amazing volunteers for helping us coordinate this relief effort. These teams include the following:

  • Philippine Naval Reserve Command
  • 247th DLSU ROTC Alumni Group
  • 73rd Marine Battalion
  • Marine Corps Public Affairs Office

In all of these ways and more, private citizens are doing whatever they can to help during these challenging times. What is not lost on us are your donations despite the economic uncertainties, so we acknowledge all of you for your generosity. Thank you for answering and supporting this call to action - for the common cause of helping our frontliners battling this pandemic. We are all in this together.

Stay well. Check-in with one another. Be safe.

Best,

Stephanie and Winwyn
