Criminal Charges Dismissed, but Tinted Windows Offense, Return of Firearm, etc., remain to be challenged
Update posted by Evan F. Nappen Attorney At Law, P.C. On Mar 13

While the criminal charges have been dismissed, Mr. Twyne is still fighting for the return of his firearm, against the motor vehicle tinted windows offense, and for restoration of his rights and reputation.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Glad to here about the charges, but the rest of the charges need to be dropped and all of his belongings returned i.e. his firearm and his right to pursue his happiness. His lawyer should also have the police department make a public apology. The officers involved need to be suspended without pay until all of this takes place. Officers like this make it hard for good officers to connect with the public in society. Being a police officer is a very difficult job ( I was one), and everyday your are on the defense. Police officers face death every time they wake up in the morning and put on the uniform. This situation though, tells young black men, that even when they are doing the right thing that they are going to be punished. The relationships need to be repaired, and the wrongs made right.

I’m not in the vengeance business, and this isn’t about vengeance but setting a wrong right. If the police officers who stopped him don’t accept responsibility for what they did, and have some punitive action against them then nothing has been accomplished. They will simply continue to do the same thing. All the burden is on Mr. Twyne. So far the police department and the DA is out nothing. The DA sits in his office and admits no guilt for what they have done. Without some kind of punitive action then there is nothing to stop this from happening again. If it hadn’t been for the publicity and the out cry, I have to wonder where Mr. Twyne would be right now. This is akin to attempted murder, the attempted taking of a persons freedom, his lively hood and his freedom to travel without harassment.
