Major Breakthrough - I DROVE ALONE!

Update posted by PUI YING IRENE CHIA

With the Movement Restriction Order (MRO) in place, we are only allowed ONE person in a car unless it's an emergency. Last Saturday, a real need arise - I need to drive across the city to collect my daughter's breastmilk donation. We made the decision for me to go because with my husband being a foreigner, things might get lost in translation when he needed to stop at police roadblocks. I was quite excited about it and planned the adventure early in the morning to minimize the potential effect of ptosis (droopy eyelids).

Yes, I successfully drove that morning all by myself! Even though I spent just under an hour for my whole trip, I am so grateful that I was able to drive. Prior preparation was needed like sunglasses and a hat to help reduce the brightness of the sun. I celebrated God's goodness on that day for making it possible for me to be on a Mama's mission to provide food for my child.

I have been experiencing stabilization and improvement of my symptoms. In fact, since the MRO, we have been managing without help in the house. I have been managing things on bite size as our home is still on its way to be set up that it supports my daily life with the demand of disease. My main focus for now is to take care of my daughter, cook simplified one pot meals and to clean the place as I can.

We look forward to the next doctor's appointment and I will post more updates after that.

Blessings,
Irene
