I am Kartiki Gonsalves, founder of Earth Spectrum. I am excited to share with you our latest project - SACRED BOND. This is a one hour film about the story of the bond between one orphaned baby elephant (Raghu) and his new human companions. The film focuses on the raising of an orphaned baby elephant and the strong bonds he forms with the human community that nurtures and trains him. This documentary will shift the emphasis from fight and struggle to bond and coexistence. The film then broadens its focus to look at the future of all the elephants in South India and the human communities that share or border elephant territory.

Our goal is to reach audiences and inspire them to fall in love with one young elephant striving to survive in his altered world. As audiences are drawn in by Raghu’s charisma and vulnerability, they will come to understand the urgent need to keep him and all elephants alive. This epic portrait of a young elephant sheds light on the survival of the species. The film has one main goal, that is to impact conservation in a timely and meaningful way.

We at Earth Spectrum are looking for sponsorship to finish the documentary - SACRED BOND . We feel that such a project will give you a chance to explore your social voice and begin the journey to make a change by creating awareness .

We live in a time and age where people are becoming increasingly aware of the impact that the industrious ways of human society have had on our Earth and its other inhabitants. People and the corporations that employ them are looking for a way to give back and discover their own social voice. We at Earth Spectrum would like to give you that opportunity through funding our venture. The Asian elephant is slowly heading to a silent extinction; awareness is the first step to change and we look forward to you being part of that.

This film is one of many things that you are doing in the larger scheme of things, and it will propel your journey towards making a major contribution in the conservation space. We are half way through the filming and need more funds to finish the documentary.

Film Synopsis:

The story of the bonding of one orphaned baby elephant with his new human companions and the intelligence, and strong communal bonds of his entire species as it searches for sustenance and survival in a shrinking habitat. The film then broadens its focus to look at the future of all elephants in South India and the human communities that share or border elephant territory. How can these two communities that share so many traits of intelligence, strong social bonds, humour, play, grief, etc. learn to live safely side by side? It will also look at ways tribals have co-existed with elephants for centuries.

Sacred Bond is an emotional drama that focuses on the raising of an orphaned baby elephant and the strong bonds he forms with the human community that nurtures and trains him. My goal is to bring local stories to life that will drive change and have lasting impact on the world which will reach audiences and inspire them to fall in love with these ,majestic beings and to better understand them. Every compelling story we tell can inspire people to take up personal action.

We have received the government permissions from February 1st to the 31st of March. The first half of the film has been already filmed during the months of October and November. Post which the Film Promo was made in the month of December.
