Right after Petr went missing, the official search operation was executed by professional SAR team from Aoraki region. Unfortunately, it was not possible to localise Petr during the operation. Due to bad weather it wasn't possible to do detailed aerial and ground search. Unfortunately, last week the area was exposed to multiple storms with important quantity of a new snow, strong wind sand with high risk of avalanches. The official operation was supported by number of private search flights.

Unfortunately, the search has not been successful yet. It was not been possible to continue the search for the past two days due to weather conditions. However, the search should be resumed in the following days. So far it has been financed by an insurance provider. Another four days of search are planned. Afterwards, it should be financed from this campaign and private funds. One day of search costs approximately 13 000,- CHF.
