We did it! Construction Complete!

Update posted by Sani Eldarwish

Dear Friends and Family,

Our project to renovate the laundry room for the elderly at the Asilo de San Sebastian is finally complete.

We raised almost half of our target of CHF 10,000, with the balance made up for by The AS&G Foundation effort.

I have uploaded some additional photos of the final work and a video showing the results and another communicating our gratitude:

The New Laundry Room

Thank You!

I cannot express just how thankful I am to all of you for making this achievement possible. Renovating a laundry room doesn't sound like much, but it is to me. For the elderly at the Asilo it provides some sense that they exist and that we notice them and their needs. They are not alone.

My parents were kind and loving people and I know they would be proud of what we have all done in their names. It is my hope that this is just one of many projects that we will accomplish together to fulfill our mission:

"To eliminate the despair of those without means in an enduring and sustainable manner."

While our aim was to change the toxic asbestos roof, as we progressed other issues presented themselves such as inappropriate plumbing, insufficient electrical wiring, a failing water boiler and waste of electricity and water related to faulty machinery. We eliminated these and remained within budget, contributing to the Asilo's sustainability longer term.

Special thanks go to our providers who did a great job making your generosity a concrete reality:
