Using Funds for Luce

Update posted by Althea Mason

I care for two children's villages in the refugee camps and in one of them is a young man who is 10 years old ( I will call him Luce). He has had an eye injury. Several months ago some liquid from a cactus tree dropped in his right eye when the cactus branches were being cut. He didn't say anything at the time and his right eye became very sore. Luce was taken to the camp hospital but treatment has not been very effective. We established that he has pain 4/10 every day in his right eye and his sight is very poor. His eyesight in his left eye is poor and will require glasses to help with his vision.

He has recently joined us at KJRC and is having treatment at a hospital in Chiangmai. In early February he will have surgery on his right eye. Luce is not a Thai citizen and therefore all treatment must be paid for in full. We would like to use the money we have left from Heng to cover the medical costs for Luce.

We pray that he will soon be pain free and be able to study much better with improved sight. luce has two siblings who live with him in the refugee camp home.

Thank you for making such dramatic improvements possible.
