We visited Heng yesterday on our way to Chiangmai in search of a more appropriate mattress and other things to make his stay a little more comfortable. We have employed a nursing assistant to be with Heng and do all the things that he cannot do himself such as cleaning his teeth, massaging his hands and feet, eating, drinking, scratching his head and pressure care. He needs a lot of encouragement to drink and eating is an effort, so we need to supply appropriate, delicious food.

From what we can gather his medical condition is stable, however, there are no noticeable improvements. Yesterday I put his hands in a bowl of water but he didn't know that his left hand was in water. He cannot lift either hand off the bed but has reasonable movement of his feet. We plan to see the Consultant on Friday morning when we hope to know more about his progress and future care plan.
