Keeping the faith... πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Update posted by Bernadette Jayme

Hi all, update as of Thursday (10/24/2019)@1:30pm

As of the moment, Angel is at 70% oxygen and is tolerating it well. Her heart rate is a bit high at 150s, they said it was a rebound effect when they stopped the Propofol drip since she had it for days. They started a low dose Nitroglycerin drip just to lower down the heart rate within normal limits, right now heart rate is 116. Spoke with the head doctor, he said that her lung problem is connected to her heart. If she continuosly tolerates the oxygen, they will start to make her awake and hold off the sedatives, have the neuro assess her and give the go signal for the operation. They are also thinking of inserting a catheter and attach it to a machine in which her blood will pass through her veins and go through the machine and the machine will pump it back to the arteries. In this way, the machine will be the one to pump the blood to the different organs, less work for her heart and lessen the congestion on her lungs. Another option is to insert a balloon pump to her heart just to aid the heart in pumping. But he will still have to discuss it with the the team. The procedure will be done in Baptist hospital since they don't have the machine here in UAMS.
