5 weeks old!

Update posted by Gyvania Jovic Storey

The kittens eyes are now open, they are eating wet food, play fighting, escaping their play pen to explore the space, and are weaning, which means they will soon be more independent and ready for their forever homes! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

There have been complications on the way, though. From our other two cats feeling rooted out of the house 🐈🐈 to finding out they have cat herpes 😲

After a LITTLE research, we have found that giving them as much space as possible, to naturally define their own boundaries and separating their resources (food, separate litter boxes, sleeping space) is imperative to them ever becoming chums.

And after a LOT of ongoing research, and the limited treatment options in Croatia for viruses, we are now successfully treating conjunctivitis in 3 of them and I am currently in the process of contacting a UK vet to see if we can have anti viral medication sent over, as well as providing them with anti biotic, probiotics, l-lysine and antibiotic ointment for their eyes! πŸ’²πŸ’²πŸ’²

Sleep 😴 has been a luxury, but it's so worth it!

Because the 2 twins - Mini & Maxi - are the smallest and have eye complications due to the virus (we are still hoping that this will resolve with the treatment) I have insisted we keep them permanently! Additionally, my mother has fallen in love with Petra - the biggest, most developed one with a huge personality, and as such, will not part with her either.

We need to be realistic and ensure that the other 3 find happy, caring homes to live their best lives.
After all, and as mentioned in my first entry, we still have one more queen, due to give birth at any minute now πŸ™€ 🀰🏼
