Content to faciliate “Mobile Vocational Training school”

Update posted by Alex Mahoro

Greetings to all,

We have been doing consultations on diverse issues with a cross section of actors towards having the execution of this programme intervention (campaign) already started. To that effect, through synergies built, we have been able to identify a training package Curricula - IDEA4Africa recommended by Planning for Tomorrow (P4T) an implementing partner mandated by the Government of the Republic of Uganda to address refugee issues/challenges. P4T serves cummunity at Kyangwali Refugee Settlement-a settlement in Kikuube District, Western Uganda that majorly hosts refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

P4T has been applying the functionality of this Curricula among DRC Youth at Kyangwali Refugee settlement. Through this campaign, we also expect to replicate and scale up the functionality of this curricula not only among young people but also women in the DRC community of especially MINEMBWE. This is in line with the campaign programme activity “Mobile Vocational Training school”.

We shall take advantage of this opportunity to further test the curricula and recommend possible ammendments to suit also women.

We believe that instead of developing a new training package on business development etc, we need to utlise already available relevant content. This is because it is more sustainable and cost-effective building on and developing already existent structures/efforts/investments.

Thank you for your kind partnership gesture,

Campaign Team
