Pre-Ops: Day 3 (Late Upload)

Update posted by Anne Margaux Mateo

Last August 21, 2019, our brave princess Almira June was discharged from the hospital. Based on the results of the test, it is still a “GO” with her surgery BUT, thankfully at some point, that her surgery will be postponed to mid-September to October 2019 to prepare her body some more for what’s to come.

She was excited to come home. Hospitals aren’t her favorite really (who does like it, right?), but it was never without a struggle and funny story.

After her procedure the previous day, she was asked to straighten her right leg for about 12 hours since it has some wound still from the catheter (if she moves it, she might end up with some bleeding). So before we went home, we were preparing her, and since it’s mkre than 12 hours, she’s allowed to move her legs, but the funny girl didn’t move her left leg the whole time too! And she was whining every time we tried to move her left leg to put on her undies, so that I can carry her to the chair. Such a trip!

What about how I ended up with various funny faces on my phone because she kept on snapping some photos of me? Funny girl!

But she’s indeed a brave one. She’s fighting this all and I hope that through your help and prayers, we can help her fight her way through a healthy heart and more years growing up.

Thank you to everyone who have shown and shared their support, and looking forward for all of you to share the word about our dear Mimay and her journey to a healthy heart. - - - M.M.
