First Chemo Session!

Update posted by Neil Michael Namoro

first for all i would like to give big big thanks to each and everyone who have donated to my medical fund campaign, right now we have already gathered enough to cover maybe 4-5 treatment sessions. i am overwhelmed with the support you guys have given. thank you all so very much. you guys are heroes!

so anyways, the fight against the big c has began; my first treatment session was done earlier today and now i just hope i don't get hit hard with the side effects which are expected in the next few days.

aside from the hassle of getting one of the medicines that i need on time because of delivery scheduling issues, the whole process was pretty straightforward. first i was given medicine to avoid allergic reactions to the chemo stuff, and then medicine to avoid vomiting, and then the main stuff started: rituximab was given, then doxorubicin, and then cyclophosphamide. good thing i didn't have any negative reactions to the medicines, something good to look forward to in the next sessions to come.

so while waiting for the session to be finished, i just read through a bunch of comic books that i haven't read yet and asking the nurses on what to expect after this and general things of what to do and not do.

so for now, i am just preparing myself for any side effects that might come in the next 2-3 days and do my best to overcome them. and keeping myself healthy until the next treatment session comes up in 28 days.

one down, possibly 5-7 more to go! aja aja fighting!
