First week DONE... with a little surprise.

Update posted by Karla Aquino

Now that I've finally settled in, I can finally post an update:

The last week of March was an emotional roller coaster ride. Everything was happening so fast, I couldn't enjoy the fact that I accepted the summer dance scholarship I got in Manila. I had 3 days to move to Manila. Within those 3 days, I've managed to find a dorm I could stay in, find a way I could still commit to the Ballet Baguio IDD recital whilst being in Manila, finish the choreography for the Ballet Baguio recital, pack and uhmmm PACK. I honestly didnt think it was possible, but everything was resolved in a breeze that I realized that this is where I'm supposed to be. The universe is on my side.

I've been longing to be in this school and everything is still surreal to me. We just completed our first week and had our orientation last Thursday. They awarded the special scholarships they announced during the audition. Apparently, I GOT ONE OF THEM. I am one of the four Alumni Scholars, in which some of the Alumni hand picked dancers from the audition to cover all of their expenses for the summer workshop and some freebies. I honestly wasn't expecting an upgrade from the tuition scholarship that I got. This opportunity to grow more as a dancer and live independently would not be possible if it weren't for the donations I got. Especially the offline donations which are my current source of funds as of the moment. [Since GoGetFunding policy states that I have to wait for 50 days before I can withdraw the funds already donated thru this site.] I am beyond grateful to each and everyone of you for helping me pursue this next chapter of my life. I am eternally grateful for your support and continue supporting the arts.

xo,

Karll
