Update March 12th
Update posted by Theresa CliftonGus got his staples out yesterday. I was afraid his incision was getting infected and not healing, it is actually doing quite well. We were supposed to see the oncologist this morning, but she called out sick today. We still don't have the results from the lab, which is also quite frustrating. Gus still isn't interested in eating; he's boycotted his kibble completely at this point. I'm currently cooking him up a bland diet of rice and boiled chicken. I'm hoping he will get back to normal soon. I got permission to stop the antibiotic which we think is what's been messing with his appetite. He's temporarily off his Cushing's medication until his appetite comes back to normal. If he doesn't bounce back in a few days we may need to go in for some blood tests with either the surgery folks or his internal medicine vet that manages his Cushing's. Never did I think I'd be managing my dog's care between three different Vetrinary Specialists. I guess the good news is that since Gus was a bit overweight it's okay that he's lost some weight the last two weeks. He still has a lot of energy and wants to be with his humans constantly. ❤
