FROM WORLD-TRAVELING VIDEOGRAPHER TO DELIVERYMAN

Update posted by Carrie Purkeypile

When this campaign launched, Boris, Yuma, and the children were staying with family in Peru. Yuma never received the paperwork she needs to work in Peru, and Boris wasn't able to find work either. As the months advanced their savings dwindled. Doing laundry for the neighbors was not earning them enough to live on, so when a friend in Ecuador offered Boris a job, he took it.

Boris has been working as a driver, delivering car parts to locations all over Ecuador. Yuma and the children stayed in Peru for awhile, but they were unable to pay for Julieta to start school in March. She and the children moved back up to Ecuador and are staying in her mother’s small home while Boris is based in another city.

Boris is willing to do what it takes to support his family—and I’m proud of him. I do hope we can pull together to help him reclaim his true profession as a highly skilled videographer. While there is nothing wrong with driving for a living, it is keeping their family apart, and a waste of Boris’s unique talent! (Plus, I don’t think it pays very much.)

Please donate to this cause, and help Boris get video equipment to jumpstart his career again. He has all the talent he needs, just lacks the equipment! Your gift today will mean a lot for this family. This is a turning point that will dictate a lot about how the children grow up. Thank you for pitching in and giving this family a hand up!
