More details coming in

Update posted by Nik Schwarten

I just got a mail from the closest friend Rey who is our direct contact to Gellie -- putting together more details about her situation:

Angelica Rondolo Laurente was diagnosed to have severe UTI infection and has been suffering from severe abdominal pain and round the clock fever with chills since December 18, 2018. She was very stubborn to be admitted so she suffered a lot while at home for a week until she was rushed to emergency room then finally admitted last December 26, 2018 to January 1, 2019 at Las Pinas Medical Center, Philippines. With all the antibiotics, pain relievers and paracetamol nothing changed, she still suffering round the clock fever due to infection. She undergone a CT Stonogram and her doctor found out her right kidney is swelling and having fluids (urines) for years already. Her doctor confirmed that the infections are coming from her right kidney and needed to be treated ASAP because there is a high probability that it will turn to SEPSIS (infection in the blood which can cause unwanted death). She was advised to drain the fluids from her right kidney by injecting a needle from her back. She was hesitant to pursue with it because of high cost quoted by her doctor. If this procedure is pursued and successful, a renal test will be conducted to check if her right kidney is still working. Worse case, if not working, it is advised to remove her right kidney to avoid any further complications (SEPSIS) and save her life. According to her Doctor, this procedure will be done in Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center because all equipment needed are available in this hospital. It was also a blessing to her because her doctor referred her to Jose Reyes Hospital as charity patient. So, she decided to pursue the procedure; leaving Las Pinas Medical Center unpaid bills and just made a promissory note.

Angelica is currently confined in ICU of Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital and being taking care by Urologist, Cardiologist, Pulmonary, Nepro, and Internal Medicine. She undergone a procedure already (injecting a needle from her back going to her right kidney) last January 1, 2019. Stocked urines in her right kidney were continuously draining until such time that the fluids coming out was already clear, but she is still persistently experiencing fever with chills. Four days after the procedure, she experienced a very high fever (39’C to 40’C) with chills for an hour and also she had a difficulty in breathing and having a hard cough with some bloods together with her saliva. It was confirmed via a series of blood test and ECG that she had cardiac arrest that time. A mechanical ventilator was installed to assist her in breathing. Her blood oxygen and blood pressure already went low and had a high heartbeat. This means that her heart has a difficulty to pump blood and she is already anemic. As of now, although she conscious, but she is still unstable due to blood infection (SEPSIS) that already affects her other organs such as her lungs which she has already a pulmonary issue, heart problem to the point that she needs to CPR and apply electric shock waves for many times already. Her doctor is still working out on the blood infection by putting an IV antibiotic. As of now, Angelica health conditions is unstable (50/50). Thank God that she still alive and she has many supporters and prayer warriors.
