Thank you so much for all of the support! Kendra is feeling immense relief and gratitude right now!

Update posted by Heather McKenna

Thank you so much for making sure that Kendra can meet their basic needs for food, housing and bills during this time of healing. They are grateful to all of you for the opportunity to be supported by you and honored to receive your care, and are already eager to pay it forward.

Many folks have asked what else Kendra needs aside from financial support. At the moment, that is still one of the most helpful things.

Due to the nature of the injury she struggles with digestion and other processes related to the abdomen, including conversation. She has limited foods which she can process easily.

If you are interested in providing her healing foods, here are some of their dietary needs:

gluten free, soy free, dairy free, no nightshades, corn free, coconut free, preferably mostly grain free

Kendra eats predominantly meat and vegetables
ideas: organic frozen meats & bones, bone broth, squash soups, slow cooked meats

Treats: flax brownies by Flax4Life, rooibos tea, ginger beverages

Kendra loves being in community, and also is an introvert who recharges by resting and getting alone time. She's had some trouble scheduling visits as the pain and emotional experience has not been predictable. As they are feeling more able to be present to visitors, they have mentioned wanting to see folks.

Kendra encourages you to be persistent in your communication over text or messaging with her. This format works best, as she can respond as she feels able. She is receiving and appreciating the care! One of Kendra's growing edges is learning to receive and ask for help and care.

Thank you all once again for helping Kendra meet basic needs and allow her the ability to rest and heal.
