Update posted by Maria Therese Andrada

Today days after festivities of the 93rd birthday of my Grandma, I tried to eat in moderation. Eliminated sugar and pastries in my diet as well. I definitely don't want to feed that thing growing inside of me. For those who don't know, sugar is what feeds the cancer cells in the body. I started buying sugar free or keto breads since it has added sugar unlike commercialized bread and also is low in carbs. Carbs also breaks down to sugar when not burned. I do try my best to exercise and have an the same life as usual. Of course you only do what your body can handle.

So back to today's chemo session. I had a different combination of chemo meds. I was given first 2 hours of Iv or Hydration then Cisplatin for the first part of the chemo meds (same one given to me 2 years ago) but this time followed by Gemcitabine. The treatment was 6 hours total. But for the next one dated Feb 13 will just be given Gemcitabine which will only be for 3 hrs including pre-hydration and pre meds. I feel fine maybe because its only the first day. I hope I don't expect fever, and nausea feeling right on this first session. I am no longer afraid. Although this way of medication is much more expensive than the first one (where I had a allergic reaction). For those who donated it is greatly appreciated as it will help me cover as much as I can with the amount. One cycle costs approximately $800-900 per cycle. Right now I have raised only $240. But any amount is greatly appreciated really. God bless to all those who have.
