Alex has gone to foster!

Update posted by Carrie Hale

Hi everyone,

Alex has left the vet now, he has had no operations yet and the emergency care he received was covered by the RSPCA as we reported him as soon as we found him. The vet told us to keep him under surveillance for two weeks before he can have any operations to see whether his nerves controlling the bladder and sphincter are healing. I asked if we could at least remove his testicles but am told that he needs time to recover and watch his progress before we take on any surgery in the affected area. Alex will stay in foster until East Lancashire cats are able to take him in, at which point we will likely transfer his medical care responsibility to ELC, along with the funds raised by all of us for his operations. ELC will keep us updated on his progress as will we. Meanwhile, he is on antibiotics and he is having help expressing his bladder regularly.

*I will include a link to videos of Alex once I have figured out how! :P*
