Surgery rescheduled for January 9

Update posted by Edwin Sallan

Originally scheduled for January 9, my surgery has been rescheduled to allow my surgeon and her assisting residents to carefully plan the operation. To this end, new xrays and lab tests will be taken from me by tomorrow, January 8, my date of admission at Philippine Orthopedic Center. Made the necessary updates on the original post as well.

UPDATE: Surgery last January 9 was a success. My left elbow has been implanted with Gentamicin antibiotic beads and I was administered with Cefazolin during my 7-day stay at the hospital. However, no bacterial growth has been observed in my blood culture so I was sent home with a 14-day course on oral Clyndamicin. I am not out of the woods by any means, though. My second surgery is tentatively scheduled for February 14, Valentine’s Day in which I will have bone graft where bones taken from my hips will be used to fill the dead spaces in my left elbow. Also, I will be implanted with new metal plates and screws, the price of which was quoted to me to be P110,000. So I still need help in this regard.
