Update 12: as of February 19, 2019

Update posted by Zaldy Mendova

On her previous chemo session (Monday), the Onco referred Sey to a pediatric cardiologist to perform a 2D echocardiogram test. A clearance from the doctor is a must before the next chemo session which will be on next Monday.

On February 15, 2019 (Friday), Sey was back in the hospital to have her heart tested. Although the result will be released after two working days, the doctor already mentioned that he did not find any problem with Sey's heart (Salamat po!).

As of February 17, 2019 (Sunday), as a part of the routine, she had her blood tested again at Binangonan Lakeview Hospital. This time an additional test which is called Bilirubin was added to help check the health of her liver.

As of February 18, 2019 (Monday), Sey was again administered with her weekly dose of L-ASPARAGINASE - given at the outpatient unit. The entire session went smooth, again only one try for the needle insertion. But she vomited during our trip going home and twice at home. We thought that her antacid (maalox) was still enough (bottle looks tricky) so we delayed buying a new one, this was a mistake on our end.

As of February 19, 2019 (Tuesday), Sey is back for another set of chemo meds (VINCRISTINE, DOXORUBICIN). These were also given thru the outpatient unit; in her past sessions these meds were given as inpatient along with TIT. Although a little tiring for Sey and all of us, we chose to just comeback because our bill can easily balloon if we choose to be admitted.

Hep Lock - the tube with a catheter

To avoid a repeat insertion of the needle she went home from the previous session while still wearing the hep lock. The nurses were happy that the hep lock remained intact hence no need for another insertion.

One of her home medicine which is MERCAPTOPURINE is only sold at big hospitals. The prescription required 14 pcs but the hospital can only provide us 7 pcs. According to the pharma, they are running out of stock so they are trying to manage what's remaining. They are not sure when will be the next delivery from the sole supplier so we were advised to try at St. Lukes hospital. For now, the 7 pcs can still run for 7 days and we hope that there will be a stock available by the time it runs out.

We have spent more than 22k for all the test and medications done during this update (discounts applied).

Thank you for reading our update. Again, thank you in advance for sharing this update and for inviting your friends to like the Facebook page; we really appreciate every little help that we are getting.
