Update 9: As of January 29, 2019

Update posted by Zaldy Mendova

As of January 29, 2019. For this chemo session, she will undergo another TIT procedure and will also be given different chemo meds such as L-Asparaginase, Doxorubicin and Vincristine.

She was back in the hospital last Sunday January 27, 2019 for the scheduled admission; she needed to be hydrated before her chemo meds. The needle insertion was done by a new resident pedia, deep inside I was worried for Sey because doctors who does not know her tend to be complacent. He looked prepared because for the first time someone brought a vein finder light tool (I don't know what they call it). Only to my disappointment, he still did not get it in his first try. And opposite to her reaction to the insertion last session, this time Sey was crying really loud and I really felt her pain. I know that they are doing their best because nobody wants a second pricking, but I have to be honest, I am always seconds away from being confrontational when this things happen. Sey would stare at me and give me that look, begging to be rescued and there's very little thing her father can do to ease the pain. Good thing my wife is calmer and would always balance the situation.

As of Monday, the 3 chemo meds were administered and thankfully no vomiting. The drugs made her sensitive to the smell of food and would feel like throwing up but they gave her meds to cope with the nausea and vomiting such as Ondansetron and Maalox.

The TIT procedure was done on Tuesday January 29, 2019, sample fluid was also taken for histopath and cytospin to look for cerebrospinal cyst content. We pray that the same as last time she remains negative for big C invasion.

Onco said we can go home on the same day if she is okay after the procedure, so we pushed for the discharge. Onco must have been too preoccupied that he failed to forward his professional fee to billing department, given after several follow up from the nurses.

The total hospital bill is almost 71k, after Philhealth and PWD we paid around 51k (arayyy and to think that Onco PF was still not included). We will be back again on Monday for the weekly L-ASPA.

Thank you for taking the time to read our update, we hope you can help us reach someone who is capable of extending help for Sey. Kindly share this post and the Facebook page: One Big Fight for Sey
