Update 6: as of January 04, 2019

Update posted by Zaldy Mendova

As of January 04, 2019 (FRIDAY), same as last week her L-ASPARAGINASE chemo session for today is done as outpatient (2nd time).

There's no need for blood test so no extra pain and no extra cost for us. Our total hospital bill is around 20k, after the Philhealth and PWD we paid almost 10k.

All went well for this session except for the notorious 2nd insertion of needle because of her thin vein. I said notorious because this has been a problem since the start of her medication. It came to a point when we had to orient whoever will perform the insertion because she was already showing signs of stress. Until now she would always cry before the insertion and we have learned to just let her express her pain. We used to tell her 'hindi naman masakit, kaya mo yan, mabilis lang yan' because we thought we were helping her reduce the pain that she is about to feel. We have learned that if we cannot do anything to reduce the pain, we need to be strong but not insensitive.

Sey is doing great so far, no fever and no discomfort. We are hoping that this is a sign that the medication is working well and we are praying that she will stay this way. We know that all of you are with us in every step of this journey, and we are very thankful.

We kindly asked for you continuous financial assistance as we still have a long way to go.
