Road to being Cancer Free

Update posted by M Alejandro

May 28, 2019

Four down, two to go; and on this date, we are done with the 5th.

Gracie is just one chemo away from being cancer FREE!!! YES!!! We are claiming it!

It was a long journey for Gracie and the whole family, but with God's grace, we are able to surpass each day. For with God, we know we can win any battle.

Just like how the Lord parted the sea and let Moses and the Israelites walk on dry land, we are faithful that He will do the same miracle to Gracie if only we will surrender everything to Him.

"The Lord is my strength and my defense;

He has become my salvation.

He is my God, and I will praise Him,

my father's God, and I will exalt him."

God bless us all.

Three down, three to go; and we our just hours away from the fourth. Faith and prayers brought us this far.

We thank our prayer warriors for your unending support to Gracie and our family. And as Gracie once again make another round of chemo today, we ask you to join us in praying for her total healing and fast recovery.

"Heavenly Father, we believe that nothing is impossible to You. Not ours but Your will be done. Please prepare us for Your plans. Amen. “

Three down, three to go; and just like that, we’re half way there.

Last April 4, Gracie’s 3rd chemo session was done. It was originally scheduled on the 30th of March, but due to her low blood count, it was rescheduled making sure that her vitals are all good prior to the session.

The session went well but just like the previous sessions, it is energy draining for Gracie. “Nakakapanghina at nakakasuka, at mainit sa pakiramdam”, as how Gracie described the feeling.

Total cost of the 3rd session was Php33,400 (chemo meds + pf + hospital bill). We were able to avail of some chemo meds from PCSO worth Php10,000. Net cash-out is Php24,300. This does not include the pre and post chemo meds, laboratory fees, and the booster shots after the chemo.

This is how cancer and chemo works, it drains your energy and consumes your financial resources. But we are forever thankful to the good hearted warriors for your monetary donations and prayers. With you and with God, we are faithful that we will win this battle.

God bless us all. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Below is the estimated cost of chemo meds for the remaining 3 sessions. (Excluding the pf, hospital bill, pre and post chemo meds, booster shots and laboratory fees)

One down, five more to go; and we are just hours away from the second.

Here’s my sis-in-law after her first chemo. Her hair started to fall and so she decided to just cut it short. She actually bought a razor so she can trim her hair anytime. Optimistic as she may seem, I can still sense how painful it is for her to bid goodbye to her crowning glory.

Friends, we are again asking for your prayers. May each hair strand lost be one prayer warrior.

“Dear Lord, we believe that nothing is impossible to You. Not ours but Your will be done. Please prepare us for Your plans. Amen. “ 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
