Dear Friends,

Vanessa is scheduled to have her abdominal CT scan today. This procedure will assess the spread of the disease and map where to put in the feeding tube.

Because of the stomach cancer, Vanessa can only take in liquids as of the moment. She is on Ensure milk and total parenteral nutrition (nutrients being given through the intravenous line). Once she has gained weight, chemotherapy may be started.

She sends her thanks for the prayers and support she has received. Despite the pain and weakness she currently feels, she draws hope and strength from the love of her son, family and friends.
