Happy second week old to our baby warrior!

Update posted by Amanda Limcuando

The past week was very hard for us, since our baby was diagnosed with sepsis (serratia infection), NEC ( bleeding of stomach, which stopped his milk feeding), and heart murmur. His platelets went down again and needed transfusion. Since our baby's blood type is AB positive, there were times that the hospital didnt have stocks of platelet concentrate AB+ and we have to request from Red Cross.

But during these times, that we saw how our baby fought and how strong he was. Yesterday, the doctors were happy explaining to us that he was better though of course his infection is still there. He was finally extubated, but still was supported thru his nose oxygen. His color is better, tummy is getting smaller and bleeding is minimal. We are just praying that the new antibiotics will cure his infection. During our visits, he would cry without sounds. He would look at us when hes awake and play with his saliva ( saliva bubbles hehehe) . I also get to touch him during our visit and talk to him everytime.

2 weeks was very fast, and I am super excited and looking forward to the day where I will be able to carry him (KMC), feed him and see him look and feel better. I thank God for every minute And day that pass by and that He continues to heal our Baby Joaquin.

We are also overwhelmed for the support we have been receiving from our friends, colleagues, family and even from other people we do not know. From financial, blood donations, assistance, moral support and prayers, these things are the ones we will never forget Especially that you are all instruments to Baby Joaquin's survival.

We cant wait to be with you Baby Joaquin. Continue to be a warrior, coz everyone's waiting for you already.:)

We love you Baby Joaquin
