Our Dad: 8 Months Later

Update posted by Mara June Baclay

It was October 2018 when we first launched this campaign. We have received such overwhelming support and your help has given our dad a fighting chance.

He fought through months of chemotherapy and endured side effects day in and day out. With a brave heart, he waged a war against cancer.

But this isn't just his war; this isn't a battle that he fought alone. It's YOURS, too.

Every peso that you donated, every prayer that you said, every candle that you lighted... they were ammunition He used them as battle gear.

Daddy responded well to his treatment. He has gained weight; he eats well; his cheeks have found their color again. He's back to playing basketball, too. He's his old normal self.

Though we wish we could say that the fight is over, we couldn't. It's not over - YET. We're up for Round 2.

Next week, our dad will undergo 25 daily sessions of Radiotherapy with Chemotherapy. The doctors say it's a "preventive measure" to ensure microscopic cancer cells are killed.

More than anything, we ask for prayers - for strength to endure, for courage to fight, for healing.

We claim by faith victory over cancer.

Thank you for fighting with us. May God's blessings be upon you and your family, today and always.
