Inka - From Malawi to South Africa

Update posted by Rachel Templer

We took in a puppy that was being abused by a group of children on the streets of Senga Bay, Malawi. We were volunteering there at the time and staying in the area. The owner begged us to take the dog off her hands, she didn't want it. So, fearing her fate, we did. We couldn't fathom taking her back with us to South Africa at that point, but at the same time we were informed that mongrels in kennels have a low adoption rate in Malawi. So we bided our time and nurtured her back to health, all the while looking for a potential home for the little thing. And then of course, we fell in love. She creeped into our hearts and is now there to stay. She has accompanied us on many an adventure in Malawi, from camping on the bay to over-crowded bus rides, rock climbing and lake swimming. She is our darling little Inka and we cannot bear to part. We simply cannot afford to fly her into South Africa, as per pet importation laws. Thus we are appealing to all those who can assist us in bringing our dog home. For her future her does not look bright, nor ours without her in South Africa. Thank you for your kindness.
