We have some news! <3 Today, I just got some updates from my cousin, Arlene - the baby's mother.

First, is the baby's health: Baby Gael is now able to defecate, several days after the surgery. This is a great news! However, he still has difficulty urinating - he can now urinate but only with very small amount; that is why a lot of urine is still inside him since the surgery. The parents are coordinating with urologist about this still.

Second, the target amount went down. From the original billing amount of 500,000+ pesos, Arlene and Arran were able to negotiate with the doctors and hospital about it; and it went down to a total of 335,000.00 pesos.

As mentioned before, Arran and Arlene were able to gather 80,000 pesos from the initial donations for the surgery even before we started this gogetfunding account. Deducting that to the 335k, the new amount needed to be raised is 255,000.00 pesos.

Government agencies that Arran approached require for baby Gael to be at the charity ward and pay ward to be granted the help they need from these agencies. However, with Gael's condition, he needs an isolated room after the surgery so that he will not further incur complications given that he is only days old - at this, the doctors advised Arran and Arlene to put him to a private room in PGH until he is discharged.

As of today, August 26, 2018, Baby Gael's parents were told that they can continue the monitoring at home already. But he cannot be discharged until the parents gather enough funds to pay the latest bill. If Arran and Arlene wait until the lacking amount is completed, by that time they have already incurred more hospital charges for the days they'll extend at the hospital.

So what Arlene and Arran did were to loan a collective amount of 255k so that they can pay the hospital bills today and be discharged. I was told that they need to pay this amount back once they are out of the hospital.
