Aug 10 Update

Update posted by Meme Natores

From Tina's FB post:

TO ALL OUR PRAYER WARRIORS: Praise God and thank you for all your prayers and words of encouragement! Sharing our latest update as of Aug 10, 7am:

Early yesterday morning, on the Feast of Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein), Baby Thomas Anthony was born after around 5 hours of induced labor. Your prayers for a swift delivery worked; thank you!

He came crying loudly, which was a good sign, and his APGAR score was 9/9 -- more answered prayers! Thank you again to all of you, our prayer warriors!

We had our Unang Yakap before he was brought to the Neonatal Care Unit for further assessments. At present, he is in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and is undergoing phototherapy for his jaundice caused by BO (blood type) incompatibility, like what his brothers had before as newborns. His blood culture results will come out only after 5 days (blood was drawn yesterday) but even without the results, they already started him on antibiotics due to his being in my womb for 48 hours with the amniotic sac already ruptured, making him prone to infection. His blood sugar level is also being monitored. His lungs seem to be working fine -- praise God and thank you again for all your prayers!!!

So far, that's all we know. We will try to get updates from the pedia later.

As for me, I am ok and recovering, only by God's grace and Our Lady's intercession.

Clinging onto God's promises of healing, strength, and provision. Trying to rest as much as I can in between trips to the IMCU to do kangaroo mother care and breastfeed (please pray that Tommy nurses well soon; he's still getting the hang of it -- we both are!).

Anthony, on the other hand, is currently not feeling well. So please do include him in your prayers too!

Please also pray for everyone else who needs healing all around the world. Being in the IMCU with all the babies around reminded me once again of the need to pray for others, especially those who do not have the resources to get good medical care and attention, especially for their children.

As we end this update, allow us to share the reading in "33 Days to Merciful Love" by Father Michael Gaitley, on the night I went into labor:

"The way you live trust (in Jesus) is by praise and thanksgiving, to praise and thank God in all things. That's what the Lord said to St. Faustina."

Father Michael quotes Saint Thérèse of Lisieux in the same reading:

"Jesus does not demand great actions from us but simply surrender and gratitude. Has he not said: 'OFFER TO GOD THE SACRIFICES OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING.'"

So, in all things, and with what's coming up for us in the next days, please join us in saying, "WE PRAISE YOU, LORD! WE THANK YOU, LORD! WE TRUST IN YOU!"

Many thanks again for all your prayers!

Our Lady, Undoer of Knots, pray for us!
