Latest Update of Lombok Relief

Update posted by Edward Silalahi Raja

We would just like to say that we have been extremely grateful with the overwhelming amount of support and the donations to help as many people as possible in north Lombok who are still in evacuation camps to this day, and for several more months. We have been focusing all our efforts on raising funds and supplies. To this day, we have helped 110 evacuation camps (30,000 people) with providing basic food and water supply, daily sanitary needs, water tanks, water pumps, water filters, generator sets, tents, books, school materials for schools and many more. With the insiders help of all our staff who are also still spread in different camps, we are managing to reach remote camps that have not been touched by much help.

The past week we have begun a couple of bigger projects: we have organized materials for traditional homes of bamboo, thatched bamboo wall and palm leaf roof for semi-permanent housing. We are also happy to report our progress with our public toilet projects for these camps- we have done 15 camps and we are looking into distributing and organizing 200 more toilets between the various camps. We are targeting to build 80 emergency schools under large tents, to help bring back routine to these children living in the camps. As of today we have done 7 emergency schools in the different villages. For those who wish to help and/or receive further updates regarding these projects, please let us know. We appreciate any help and support you could extend as we hope to do the above for more camps.
