Some familiar faces returned at their places

Update posted by Aikaterini Anyfanti

A month and a week after the wildfires , most of cats and wild animals recovered, we made a small network with locals and helped us find some of the families of the cats, and for feral cats they helped us recolate them to safety. Also very important is the feeding system we made to those areas, more than 400 kg of cat food and 200 kg of mixed dog food over the past month supplied from you through your donations to the volunteers that were feeding.

Also we are planning ahead for the winter. Since Mati area is mainly a summer destination with few people living there on winter days, we made a big order of pet food. For those days. It was surprisingly enough that local pet food companies didn't support our cause. But if the campaign reach the goal, we could deal with winter supplies too.

We still have 14 cats and one dog in the clinic, today we returned 27.

We are very proud to announce that we didn't lose any of them , even the serious , all cats and dogs are alive and healing happily.

The big challenge we had face is the respiratory problems. For example we see at 10.00 am a cat feeding her self at the feeding station , she is not burnt or injured and she looks a normal feral cat that survived the wildfire. At 11:14 few meters below we find the same cat struggling to breath and laid down on the street. We collected her and she passed two days in oxygen and two weeks of antibiotics.

So the vets said we should collect every cat take them to clinics for check up and that is how we end with so many cats under our protection.
