It is 11.13 am and I have just had a call from the Veterinary Surgeon: They did another X-ray to prep for surgery and there is no more evidence of a diaphragmatic hernia!!! I was like "WHAAAT?" She said, that on the initial X-ray the lungs were either so badly bruised/inflamed that it mimicked a break in the diaphragm or the hernia retreated which is rare but apparently happens! So after all this drama and the tears and heartache I can tell you that I can pick my Pippy up this afternoon! The vet wants to do another X-ray in a weeks time to make sure and leave the bandage on the rip cage for the time being but SHE CAN COME HOME!!! Wooooohoooooo!

So hopefully I am spared the R10000 for the surgery for good and my furbaby doesn't have to be cut open! When I come back this afternoon I will post a photo and an update regarding the cost.
