About Aljun Andrade

Update posted by Hazel Aguila

Aljun Andrade was a former workmate of mine in Cebu Pacific. He worked as a station loader he was tasked with various labor works, carrying heavy bags, and a crucial part of ground servicing. His job was very hard and exhausting, working under the blazing hot sun all day lifting heavy things. But NOT ONCE did he complain. You never hear him say anything negative. He was a funny, sweet, all around guy. We enjoyed working with him. But this man, had big dreams. He was a bread winner, and he had a hard time making ends meet. He once told me he dreamed of going outside the country, for the sole purpose of providing for his family. That's what most filipinos aim due to the lack of oppprtunity our country offers.

Eventually, he made it out of this country.

He took a huge risk moving in and working as a waiter in Riyadh, Saudi. It wasn't much, and his job was hard. But he endured everything, like most OFWs. He endured being away from loved ones, endured the long hours, endured the pain.. But he was fine with it, as long as he is making his family comfortable.

Then, his sister got into a vehicular accident. She sustained injuries that led her up to intensive care unit. Aljun was faced with this bad news, and he needed to aid his family financially. So he was waiting for his pay day to come, and when it arrived, he went to the remittance center somewhere in Saudi to send money for his sister, who was in grave danger.

Then it happened.

(Still under investigation July 3, 2018)

On his way to the center, he was met with Saudian men, with means to take mug him, take everything, no matter how little it could be. They didn't care about this little filipino person, they wanted what he has, and would do anything to get it.

They attacked him.

And our dear Aljun held on it as hard as he can. He needed the money, he had someone to take care of. He held on with all his might cause this could mean life and death for him. He FOUGHT back.

Now, our dear friend is in a comatose state in Saudi German Hospital.

We are knocking in your hearts if you can spare a small change to help out our friend. Your pocket change could mean the world for our friend. If not, please share so it can reach the people who could help financially.
