Update for July 25th...

Update posted by German Bonilla Rosso

Since last Monday, Nadia has had three surgeries: two (one on Monday, one on Wednesday) for cleanup of the exposed area and checking on a nasty opportunistic hospital-acquired infection that had prevented the doctors from implanting new skin grafts. On Friday she went in again, and fortunately the infection had significantly receded, so the doctors took the opportunity and after 7 hrs they covered a large part of her abdomen and upper leg. Since the skin is not growing back, she got some patches of skin substitute and wound dressings to guide the skin recovery. She also had the catheters draining water from her lungs removed. We are happy and hopeful for these news, as her situation is stable yet delicate.

As of today, and thanks to all your donations, our crowdfunding has gathered around 2,500 CHF. We are enormously grateful for the donations and kind messages of support all our family has received. Your donations will partly cover the costs of these surgeries. Next Tuesday she will go again into surgery and if the infection has receded, she will need new skin patches to cover the rest of her exposed wounds on her leg. Please keep on supporting her by donating and spreading the word. If you already have, we cannot thank you enough!
