When Nickholis was just a few months old he was taken to the Doctor for an ear infection, but the Doctor soon realized that something was wrong. His head was abnormally big and referred him to a paediatrician.

For the next eight years of his life, he has visited 18 different doctors across South Africa, had 2 CT scans, an MRI, different blood tests and a lot of different medication. No one knew what was wrong with little Nicholis. The last doctor he saw made the Autism diagnoses but he could not provide answers or help to the little boy.

Desperate for answers his parents came across the Family Hope Centre in Philidelphia. For 35 years they have helped over 15 000 kids with Autism. Once a year they visit South Africa. With the grace of God and the help of friends an family, his parents were able to get Nicholis seen by the Centre’s Specialist in February. They immediately realized that Nicholis had Severe brainstem Corteks Limbic brain injury and only 31% brain function. They gave him a therapy program to do at home, but because the funds are limited he still does not get the complete therapy he needs.

Nicholis drinks medication and supplements but he needs Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. The nearest centrum is 500km away in Cape Town and one session is very expensive. A Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber costs about R130 000. If the family can get a chamber they can help Nicholis and also want to give the communities children with brain injuries free entry to use the chamber.

Nicholis also needs Cranio Sacral Fascia therapy which is 100km away and also very expensive. He follows a strict diet to relieve the symptoms of the brain injury.

The visit to the Family Hope Center costs $5600 American dollars and a deposit of $1000 needs to be paid by the 1^st of December 2018 and the total amount by the 1^st of February 2019. Accommodation and transport to Gauteng is also a problem.

It is for the family very difficult to ask for help but they have no other choice.
