3rd PET/CT Scan and 7th Chemo Session

Update posted by Brian Andanar

Hi! Here are some updates regarding my recent activities this past month. Last October 29, I had my third and most crucial PET/CT scan, because this will determine the effectiveness of my chemo treatment. The results were available after 48 hours but since the next couple of days were holidays, I was only able to book an appointment with my oncologist, Dr. Gorospe on the 13th of November. But then, I was lucky enough to be rescheduled on the 8th with the help of Dr. Gorospe's secretary, Mam Josephine.

On the day of my check-up, I was very hopeful and I never felt nervous while waiting for my turn. As soon as I entered the clinic and showed Dr. Gorospe the results, her reaction was a bit serious and unsatisfied. She explained to me that even though the results were very significant, there were still small traces of cancer cells left that should be taken care of. That is why she required me to undergo 2 more chemo sessions to add in my treatment protocol. When I heard about it, I felt really sad at first because I thought that my treatment is already over. But then I prayed to God and realized that maybe God has better plans for me and whatever it is, I trust Him completely. I must not give up and continue to fight.

Last November 16-18, 2018 was my 7th chemo session. It was like an ordinary day probably because it was my seventh time. I am thankful that everything went smoothly upon my admission, insertion of iv line, administering of chemo drugs and up to my discharge from the hospital. I was very happy and optimistic during the whole process and felt stronger and confident with my treatment. I would like to give thanks to our Lord God for his blessings as well as to my family, significant other, relatives, my friends and anonymous people for their unwavering support. I humbly ask everyone for your prayers! God Bless everyone!
