Bruno has had the operation and has been discharged from the hospital. He is currently staying with his uncle in Cape Town who is kindly taking care of him!

According to the doctors, the surgery went well. It did prove to be difficult as they opted not to cut from ear to ear due to its invasive nature and went through the gum line, under his eyes and across the top of his palate instead; all in repairing his upper jaw and cheek bones, and managing to save most of his teeth. Unfortunately nothing could be done to repair his nose due to the extent of the damage, so a stint has been placed to secure the bridge of his nose. A further operation will have to be made in about a years time, once everything else has healed and settled securely. He has lost a lot of weight and is in some discomfort post the surgery, but within his character he remains positive in the healing process.
