Update on Scott! His distemper has reached his brain but is not showing signs of progression to other body parts. He can now be released according to the hospital as his vitals are now stable.

We're faced with another challenge though - I have to look for a place for him that:
a. Doesn't have other dogs in the house
b. Doesn't have a pregnant woman in the house
c. Doesn't have an infant in the house

Distemper is a viral disease that's contagious (and can be deadly) to other canines and can possibly affect pregnant women, since the distemper virus is closely linked to human measles.

I personally can't bring him into our home because we have 3 dogs.
