Massive change in plans! Hope was originally going to fly with me IN the plane cabin the entire way, but the EU has determined that this is not possible. Therefore, the worst idea I could have imagined, needs to take place. She must travel in the cargo hold, alone. This is extremely stressful for both me and her as the risks involved give me nightmares.

Import and export permits are in place and now it's just waiting to see how all this works out. I still need to come up with R30,000 before I leave on June 12th. Upcoming costs include Hope's travel fees (R13,000), her final medical clearance and deworming (R1,000), driving her to Johannesburg for her flight (R3,000), paying my guide and his petrol and accommodation to Mozambique (?), obtaining my Mozambique visa (R1,000), funny money (you'll know what I mean in Africa), and the purchase of Euros in order to stay and eat in Lisbon, Portugal for my 23 hour layover.

It is completely understandable if you cannot donate (clearly I wouldn't be able to either!), but sharing this link is extremely helpful to get the word out!
